The Hesed was intended to be the ultimate studio guitar and satisfy the most wild of tonal needs. Have you ever wanted to combine the sounds of your G-B-E strings just on the neck pickup with the E-A-D strings on the bridge pickup but didn’t want to come across as needy? Have you ever wanted six pickups but didn’t want to seem overindulgent? Treat yoself and go wild, my friend!
The Hesed was co-designed with an LA session player in order to create a guitar that would be the end-all-be-all for the studio. It drew heavy inspiration from Drew Walsh's favorite Japanese design of all time – the Teisco Spectrum V.
What sets the Hesed apart from the original Spectrum V (and any other guitar you've ever played) is its original top carve and its incredible pickups/wiring. But it's just 3 pickups, right? WRONG! What you see is actually 6 mini P-90s, each designed to only amplify the 3 strings they are under but can be mingled in any combination with each other. So what this means is you have 36 pickup combinations. Say what? That's right. For example, you can combine the bottom three strings of neck mini P-90 with the top three strings of the bridge mini P-90. This means you can create sounds and textures you've never heard or played before!
BODY

- Top carves: rounded edges (Tele or Strat styles for reference), German carve, unique Walsh rounded/step carve
- Binding: costs an additional $75 per side (inquire for colors and options)
NECK
- Neck wood: plain maple (roasted or unroasted), quartersawn maple (roasted or unroasted), birdseye maple (roasted or unroasted), flame maple (roasted or unroasted), mahogany, korina
- Orientation: right or left handed
- Back contours: C, Fat, Assymetrical, U
- Scale: 25.5"
- Fingerboard wood: various maples, Indian rosewood, pau ferro, ebony, Macassar ebony, walnut, bocote, zircote
- Radius: 7.25, 9.5, 10, 12, 16; compound radius available for an extra $50 (7.25-9.5, 9.5-12, 10-14, 10-16, 12-16)
- Frets: Dunlop 6000, 6100, 6105, 6125, 6130, 6150, 6230 (stainless steel also available for an additional $50, Gold Evo frets available for an extra $50)
- Fret count: 21 or 22
- Truss rod: headstock adjusting, heel adjusting, or heel spoke adjusting
- Inlays: faux clay, black, MOP
- Neck finish: oil, nitro, or combo (oil on back, nitro on face of headstock)
- Nut width: vintage 1.650", the modern 1.6875", the wide 1.750", and the super wide 1-7/8"
