As guitar players, we always look for an instrument that feels like a natural extension of our body, a guitar that is a frictionless channel of creativity. Rooted deeply in the rock scene of the 60s, the Helena is a guitar that is made to do just that. A guitar that is unmatched in playability & versatility and also offers timeless inspiration. The Helena is a result of collaboration and inspiration from the talented master luthier Angelo van Merrienboer from Panucci Guitars.

The Helena is available as part of B&G's Standard Build series. Hand-Crafted in Tel-Aviv, Israel.

SOFT V NECK SHAPE
B&G's Soft V neck profile is their signature shape, reminiscent of legendary guitars from the 50s.

HAND-WOUND PICKUPS
The single coil pickups, in classy lipstick brass covers, are B&G's interpretation, reinvention if you will, of the classic single coils of the late ‘50s. They offer a creaminess in the lower end that made this design so popular, but without a trace of murkiness. The midrange is surprisingly clean, and the top end has that tone you’ve only dreamed about. The output power is definitively classic single coil; powerful, yet with clarity and crisp definition.

MODERN ACCESS AND PLAYABILITY
Better access on the neck to the high frets is achieved with a flush mounted bolt-on neck and a comfortable heel joint. B&G has applied their road tested guitar building techniques and merged them with modern applications to create a guitar that produces a classic sound with modern playability. This finish will age/relic fairly quickly & naturally to ensure improved tone over time.

CONTOURED LIGHTWEIGHT BODY
The Helena has a contoured, original shaped, thin body made from 1-piece of genuine mahogany.

STANNDARD BUILD
B&G Standard Build Helena guitars are hand-built using both traditional and modern techniques that deliver a vintage feel, look and sound - straight out of the case.

OLD MEETS NEW
B&G has applied their old-school guitar building techniques and merged then with modern lutherie applications to create a guitar that produces a classic sounds while providing modern playability.

SOLID ONE-PIECE GENUINE MAHOGANY BODY
The body is made from one piece genuine mahogany.

TRADITIONAL GLUES
Traditional glues are used for the frets and fretboard. These type of glues crystallize like glass when dry, creating a substantially thinner layer between the different parts allowing for optimal string energy transfer; significantly better than modern synthetic glues.

ONE-WAY TRUSS-ROD
Single rod, one-way truss-rods are lighter and require a smaller channel in the neck. This building technique also requires neck woods that are perfectly aged, plus accurate installation of the truss-rod. Helena guitars only use this specific truss-rod design for improved tone transfer and sustain.

B&G PICKUPS
B&G uses their Private Build pickups that have been developed in-house to ensure that specific tone they wanted for their guitars. The Helena is packed with a set of three single coil pickups that are wound by hand with AWG43 lacquered enamel copper, powered by in-house cast Alsnico II and Alnico V magnets and covered by B&G's handmade brass lipstick covers.

HIGH END HARDWARE
The Gotoh bridge and tuning machines have been selected for their outstanding tone, functionality and precision.

UNIQUE SCALE LENGTH
As guitar players, we always look for that perfect tone and balance from our instrument. With this sweet spot 25-1/8" scale length is found the solution to the tonal limitations of ubiquitous guitars with 24-3/4" and 25-1/2" scale lengths. This unique scale length is designed to provide the player with unmatched versatility, unique tones and character. The tones are articulated and sweet, round but not muddy, sharp but not harsh, with a wide frequency range. This makes the Helena a workhorse for fingerstyle playing, argeggios, rhythm and solos using a new pallet of sonic colors.

50s STYLE WIRING
This wiring impacts the taper of the volume control, lending to less teble bleed as the volume is reduced and produces a cleaner, more open sound.

OPEN PORE NITROCELLULOSE FINISH
A thin coat of nitrocellulose finsh is applied, which allows the wood to breathe and resonate, reflecting the artist's passion for playing. The finish will age/relic fairly quickly and naturally to ensure improved tone over time.
