Frank Verrilli developed this model over a long time, experimenting with the different woods, chambering, metal thickness, oxidizing methods, acid aging techniques, etc. "I was interested in incorporating the metal mostly for aesthetic reasons - I didn't want the steel to influence the sound too much. I wanted to retain a lot of the warm traditional sound you get from the wood and still have a distinct resonant chambered sound with slightly faster response. After experimenting with different ways of constructing, chambering and securing the metal top, I'm really happy with the results. Just playing it acoustically is a real joy and hard to put down. Chords ring for days. Of course, plugging it in you can really exploit the dynamic range this guitar has to offer"
The results speak for themselves - the same kind of super-spirited guitar you've come to expect from Verrilli with some extremely cool and brilliantly distressed looking tops. Welcome to Verrilli's vintage-modern model, Metal Top.
