The New Fat Jimmy Jr II has the following front panel controls: Bright Switch, Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass, Reverb, Jimmy & Master, with a Fixed/Cathode Bias switch on the back panel. (Original version of this amp with vibrato and without mid or master controls is still available.)
The mid and master controls seriously add to the versatility, allowing the player to really dial in the sweet spot at any volume, and to get right to the edge of breakup, clean/dirty at the same time (ie Rolling Stones rhythm), or full on growl, crunch, or heavier overdrive, at a huge range of volumes. The "II" model is definitely recommended for the versatility unless vibrato is absolutely necessary..
This is Fat Jimmy's answer to the famous Princeton Reverb, with several personal modifications. The Jimmy Jr II utilizes classic tube circuitry with ties to the tweed era of the '50s up through the classic blackface era of the '60s. This unique blend of circuitry (along with a few twists) creates a 15 watt amplifier that is simply unrivaled in tone and performance. You get the best of all eras! This circuit is paired with a Fat Jimmy Vintage Series 12" C1270 speaker, standard. The 12" speaker delivers a richness and fullness of sound that simply cannot be matched by a single 10" speaker. Of course, if a 10" speaker is just your thing, Fat Jimmy can accommodate with a custom order.
Features include tube driven spring reverb that has a very rich, organic feel. Like all Fat Jimmy amplifiers, a combination of NOS, vintage, and modern components are used to give you the best possible tone and performance. The Jimmy Jr. is perfect in the studio or on stage when a lower powered amplifier is preferred.
Fat Jimmy offers a NOS upgrade using vintage 1940s solid copper Western Electric switchboard wire and NOS components in most places. This takes an already amazing sounding amp and adds even more depth, dimension, and detail, with an absolutely gorgeous top end. Please inquire.
