The T16 '71 is the perfect instrument for players seeking a T-style guitar with more depth and power, thanks to its wide-range humbuckers that introduce a whole new voice to the classic design. With four control knobs, players can fine-tune their tones rather than being locked into a single pickup-specific sound. This feature allows for a dedicated lead, rhythm, and blended middle position tone, offering flexibility for various playing styles and musical settings.

This model is ideal for T-style players who love the sound of humbuckers but prefer this body shape. The wide-range pickups enhance clarity without the muddiness that some PAF-style humbuckers produce. A reshaped lower horn improves access to frets beyond the 12th, making this an excellent instrument for both lead and rhythm duties. Additional refinements, such as a rolled fretboard, a roomier lower cutaway, and a tighter waist, improve overall playability. The threaded bolt neck construction ensures a precise and tight fit, delivering resonance similar to a glued-in neck but with the maintenance benefits of a two-piece system. The ‘71 version of the T16 uses a tremolo style bridge to add tonal and playing versatility.

Tonewoods & Sound
You can select from either swamp ash or alder for your T16 '71 guitar. Swamp ash has a slightly scooped midrange and excellent sustain, but is also bright and resonant. Its crisp attack and dynamic response has been attributed to it being a bit harder than alder. Alder offers a full-bodied balanced tone with a medium bass response and strong mids—providing a warm yet articulate foundation that sits well in a mix. The neck is made from flame maple, available with either an oil or lacquer finish, and includes a traditional truss rod. The Indian rosewood fretboard is fitted with Jescar fret wire and mother of pearl dot inlays. Longbottom uses the best hardware to make sure that your guitar is always at its best. The wide range humbucker has a warmer mid range compared to a single coils. Sharing all the benefits of a standard humbucker, but a little warmer and they have a sweet brightness to them. The small details add up and that's why Longbetter uses Paper In Oil Caps, CTS Pots and Switchcraft jack and control switch.
